Aotearoa New Zealand is facing a significantly ageing population. By 2051, it is expected that a quarter of all New Zealanders will be over 65. The 2022 Kaumātua Service Providers Conference, Kaumātua Tino Rangatiratanga – He iringa kōrero ki āpōpō: From Yesterday to Tomorrow, will build on learnings from the past and identify actions needed to ensure present and future kaumātua are better informed, connected, healthier, resourced and experience a greater sense of self-determination in their journey.

This hui will bring together experts from across New Zealand, in fields instrumental to kaumātua wellbeing, independence and self-determination to address the challenges that face kaumātua and the opportunities that an ageing population brings.
